PRACTICAL MANAGEMENT OF HAIR LOSS |
||
Traction Alopecia Traction alopecia is usually due to excessive tensional forces being exerted on hair shafts as a result of certain hair styling practices. It is seen more often in women, particularly East Indian and Black patients. Hair loss will be focal, depending on the way the hair is being pulled. Prolonged traction alopecia can lead to cicatrization of the new hair follicle and permanent hair loss. |
