Pull Test
Pull test: Approximately 60 hairs are grasped from the proximal portion of the hair
shafts at the level of the scalp. The hairs are then tugged from proximal to distal
end. The number of hairs extracted is counted. It is normal to pull up to 6/60
(<10%) hairs. More than 6/60 hairs is a positive pull test and implies pathology.
